Today I would like to start a series of posts with Russian/Soviet cartoons.
Cartoons are perfect for beginners: short, easy to get the plot, vocabulary is usually simpler (although not all materials for children are good for learning, there are some poems full of words which I never use, so I don’t even read them to my daughter!).
Besides, they are engraved into Russian souls, so you will receive +100 points from Russians for knowing them or singing a song from the cartoon.
The first is called “Ма́ма для Мамонтёнка” (Mum for a little mammoth).
The main characters are:

Grandpa Walrus (Де́душка Морж)
